At Home Group is seeking a highly motivated Insurance Specialist to join the Company’s Risk Management and Legal Team. This individual will have a high degree of responsibility and must be capable and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment while interacting with all levels of leadership within the Company. Must be a problem solver that drives every outcome to a speedy resolution. This role requires strong collaboration, creativity, the ability to multi-task, communicate, make decisions, and possess the resolve to always do the right thing.
This individual is responsible for property, worker’s compensation, and auto claims - including but not limited to reporting, claims management, and oversight of the claim process. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with the OSHA recordkeeping standard for all store locations, as well as, for various states’ workers’ compensation requirements/regulations. In addition, the Insurance Specialist is required to follow up on all safety and investigation matters, claims maintenance/settlements, legal reviews, and accident investigations in accordance with company policies and procedures. As a key member of the Risk Management and Legal team, the Insurance Specialist will report to the Insurance Manager and will work closely with the entire Insurance and Legal team, along with other groups in the Company, including but not limited to Human Resources, Safety, Facilities, and the Team Member Care Center. This position will also serve as a key resource for the Stores and liaison with Insurance Carriers to manage claims accordingly. The Insurance Specialist will be the point of contact for all Certificates of Insurance and will work closely with the Insurance Manager on Insurance policy placements. This individual will partner with the Insurance Manager, Legal, Treasury Team and be responsible for working collaboratively to ensure best in class Claims and Insurance service. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
File and manage Workers’ Compensation claims for all locations in multiple states Work directly with Insurance Adjusters, Attorneys, and Store Managers to achieve favorable claim outcomes Provide support to Store Management, Legal, and Insurance Adjusters for claim investigations and protocolManage WC claims’ action plans to close claims timely, maintain communications with the stores and adjusters, assist stores with return-to-work program efforts, and bona fide job offer lettersMaintain OSHA Recordable Injuries in the OSHA Logs, posting, and electronic reporting for all store locationsAssist with Property ClaimsAssist with Surety Bonds Assist with Litigated Claims, extending too LegalMonitor and database Incident trends and review Loss Run ReportsProcess Certificates of InsuranceAssist with Insurance RenewalsAssist with Subpoena Request and Legal hold notificationsPerform Special Projects as NeededReview and Analyze Video FootageManagement of various email boxesAssist with Invoices through payment processPurchase Order Forms
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management and Insurance or at least two years equivalent work experienceRisk Management and Insurance experience preferredWorkers’ Compensation experience for all states – California a plusStrong understanding of claim processes, values, and terminologyAbility to engage with attorneys, adjusters, and all levels of operationsMust be detail oriented and able to work independently in a fast-paced environmentDeadline driven, organized individual able to handle multiple tasks while working independently or as part of a teamExcellent analytical and proven problem-solving skillsA positive and friendly demeanor with a can-do attitudeMicrosoft Office required: advanced Excel knowledge preferred
