**About the Role**
We are seeking a skilled **Software Engineer** with expertise in **Pplus and DSS** (DXC insurance platforms) to join our Insurance Services team. In this role, you will collaborate with one of our major insurance clients across all phases of the software development lifecycle—from requirements gathering and design to implementation and support.
You will play a critical role in developing, enhancing, and maintaining robust solutions that modernize and streamline our client’s operations. The ideal candidate is a proactive team player with strong technical acumen, problem-solving skills, and a drive for continuous improvement.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze requirements and deliver scalable technical solutions on Pplus and DSS platforms.
+ Lead development and maintenance of mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and DB2.
+ Support system integrations, data conversions, and modernization efforts.
+ Mentor junior team members and promote knowledge sharing across the team.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve defects, assisting with root cause analysis.
+ Contribute to project planning, estimations, and documentation.
+ Ensure delivery of high-quality, defect-free solutions within agreed timelines.
**Required Qualifications**
+ 5+ years of hands-on experience with **DXC’s Life Insurance & Annuity Platforms** , specifically **Pplus** and **DSS** .
+ Strong mainframe development skills: **COBOL, DB2, SQL, JCL** .
+ Familiarity with Micro Focus tools or similar COBOL development environments.
+ Experience in system migrations, integrations, and insurance domain transformation projects.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Prior experience in estimation and proposal development to support business growth.
+ Ability to work independently and guide others in resolving complex issues.
+ Strong communication skills with the ability to interact directly with clients and cross-functional teams.
+ Experience supporting production go-lives and willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
**Work Environment**
+ Remote work within the United States, with the flexibility to work from customer locations if required.
+ Willingness to occasionally align with India time zone and provide support during key deployments, including weekends or extended hours when necessary.
Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $105,100 - $195,200.
Full-time hires are eligible to participate in the DXC benefit program.
