Insurance Defense Paralegal
Description We are looking for an experienced Insurance Defense paralegal to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Dallas, Texas. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting attorneys through all stages of the litigation process, including legal research, case management, and trial preparation. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment. Responsibilities: • Conduct thorough legal research and compile background information to support attorneys in case preparation. • Assist in managing litigation cases, including organizing and electronically filing pleadings and legal documents. • Coordinate and schedule calendars for hearings, depositions, meetings, and mediations. • Prepare legal documents, respond to interrogatories, and coordinate requests between internal and external counsel. • Gather and summarize medical records, depositions, and other case-related information. • Collaborate with courts, mediators, and opposing counsel to facilitate legal proceedings. • Prepare pre-trial and trial materials, including exhibits, trial notebooks, and related documentation. • Assist attorneys during trials by providing in-court support and ensuring all materials are readily available. • Maintain accurate records, files, and calendars to ensure seamless case management. • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by attorneys. Requirements • Bachelor's degree or equivalent vocational training, or relevant work experience. • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably in insurance defense. • Paralegal certification is preferred but not required. • Proficiency in legal software such as Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, and case management tools. • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities. • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. • Flexibility to work overtime when necessary. • Familiarity with state and federal filing procedures.
