Description
A busy outpatient medical group in Escondido, CA is looking for a detail-oriented Insurance Biller to join their billing department. This role is essential to ensuring accurate claims submission, timely reimbursements, and compliance with payer requirements. You’ll work closely with providers, patients, and insurance companies to manage the full billing cycle. If you’re experienced in healthcare billing and enjoy solving problems and improving processes, this is a great opportunity to grow in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Submit claims to commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medi-Cal
+ Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to services
+ Review and correct claim errors and resubmit as needed
+ Follow up on unpaid claims and manage denials and appeals
+ Post payments and reconcile EOBs
+ Communicate with patients regarding balances and billing questions
+ Maintain accurate billing records and documentation
+ Stay current on payer guidelines and billing regulations
Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field preferred
+ 2+ years of experience in medical billing and insurance claims
+ Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
+ Experience with billing software (e.g., Kareo, Athenahealth, or Epic)
+ Excellent attention to detail and follow-through
+ Strong communication and customer service skills
