Insurance Authorization Coordinator
Description We are looking for an experienced Insurance Authorization Coordinator to join our team in Cincinnati, Ohio. This role is a Contract-to-permanent position and is ideal for candidates with a strong background in medical billing and insurance follow-up processes. The position requires excellent organizational and analytical skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks with precision and professionalism. Responsibilities: • Process and manage accounts receivable for various funding sources, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of payments. • Address client inquiries regarding account balances and payments, and provide assistance via incoming client calls. • Open, scan, and organize incoming mail to ensure proper documentation and accessibility. • Update accounts with daily insurance information and perform financial audits related to billing. • Utilize and maintain proficiency in specialized billing software such as an EMR system, payor portals, and clearinghouses. • Implement and adhere to organizational policies and procedures while maintaining strict confidentiality. • Perform additional duties as assigned to support team objectives. Requirements • Minimum of 1+ years of experience in medical billing or a related field. • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding, credentialing, and accounts receivable follow-up. • Proficiency in handling Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance billing processes. • Advanced clerical skills, including data entry and document scanning. • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to implementing solutions. • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and maintain quality under pressure. • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a team-oriented mindset.
