Insurance and Billing Assistant
Job Description: This is an in-person opportunity. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Part-Time Insurance & Billing Assistant to support our Office Manager at a small, client-centered behavioral health clinic. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in healthcare billing and insurance processes who is looking for a flexible, part-time opportunity. Key Responsibilities: + Investigate and resolve insurance denials, including researching denial reasons and submitting appeals when appropriate. + Monitor and track insurance claims, payments, and outstanding balances to ensure timely reimbursement. + Maintain accurate billing records and update patient accounts as needed. + Assist with verifying insurance benefits and eligibility for new and existing clients. + Obtain prior authorizations when needed. + Communicate with insurance companies, clients, and internal staff regarding billing and insurance inquiries. + Provide general administrative support to the Office Manager as needed. Qualifications: + Prior experience in medical billing, insurance claims, or a related field (behavioral health experience preferred). + Familiarity with EPIC EHR and insurance portals is a strong plus. + Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. + Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. + Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and prioritize tasks. Schedule: + Part-time: 15–20 hours per week + Flexible scheduling available
