Instrumentation Calibration Technician

The role is to perform tasks necessary to ensure safe, compliant and efficient operation of weighing equipment and instrumentation supporting operations at Brimsdown. Majority of time will be spent on tasks including repairs and calibration of weighing equipment and instrumentation. It will also include project work and assisting in additional duties where priorities require.
You will perform skilled maintenance and repair services of facility systems such as mechanical, electrical and building systems. You will interpret blueprints and schematics, have knowledge of methods, practices and techniques of maintaining building and facilities. Thinking is within well-defined somewhat diversified procedures but with many precedents covering most situations and assistance readily available. Results can be readily checked for correctness.
As the job title, you will help drive our goals by:
Provide a skilled execution of Planned, Reactive & Corrective maintenance activities to ensure the ongoing reliability of of weighing equipment and instrumentation across the plant, and to support the maintenance of both ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 accreditation
Perform problem solving and electronic/electrical fault diagnosis, adhering to identified work priorities to ensure that customers and stakeholders are supported in their daily operational needs.
Undertake occasional plant modification work to help enhance plant safety and improve efficiency.
Conduct testing, calibration, adjustment and monitoring tasks as required to maintain efficient plant and build-in equipment reliability.
Training and mentoring of team members.
Cooperate and collaborate with other team members to continually drive our proactive programme; participate in failure investigations and identify reliability issues.
Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:
A minimum of 3-years of technical experience in their specific discipline - Essential
Must have achieved a verifiable qualification in either Electrical or Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines.
Exposure to a LEAN approach to manufacturing - Desirable
Experience of working with performance metrics to drive continuous improvement - Essential
Experience in a computerised maintenance management system - Essential
Experience in a large-scale manufacturing / chemical industry within a maintenance function - Essential
