Role Overview: Instrumentation Engineer
Contract Duration: 1 year (renewable) Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering from a recognized university Experience: 7-9 years (preferably with more than 6 years in Refining and Petrochemical Projects)Functional Competencies:
Datasheets and Specifications: Prepare and review datasheets, specifications, material requisitions, and vendor documents for field instruments (e.g., Control Valves, ON-OFF valves, Safety relief valves, Flow meters, Transmitters, Analyzers, Flame scanners, MMS instruments). Local Control Panels and Cables: Review material requisitions and vendor documents for local control panels, junction boxes, cables, cable glands, and related accessories. PLC System: Prepare and review material requisitions, specifications, and vendor documents for PLC systems. Develop complex loops and logic based on cause-and-effect diagrams and functional analysis. Engineering Deliverables: Review engineering deliverables, including Instrument Index, IO list, JB Schedule, Cable schedule, MTO, JB Drawings, Process Hookups, Pneumatic Hookups, Loop Diagrams, Instrument Location Layouts, and Instrument Cable Routing Layouts. Hands-On Experience: Proficient in control valves, orifice plates, and thermowells sizing/calculations. International Standards: Knowledge of relevant standards (e.g., API, ISA, IEC, ISO). Software Familiarity: Experience with AutoCAD, INTOOLs, PDS, SP3D, and PDMS. Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs): Hands-on experience in attending FATs and SATs. Project Life Cycle: Must be part of the complete life cycle of the Instrumentation discipline for greenfield or brownfield projects.
