Instrumentation Control Technician

The Instrumentation Control Technician is a hands-on, physically demanding role responsible for working with heavy industrial water systems, piping, and electrical equipment. This position involves setting up and tearing down large-scale industrial water equipment, moving and connecting pipes and valves, and performing routine and complex maintenance on instruments and control systems. The technician also disassembles, inspects, cleans, repairs, calibrates, tests, and troubleshoots equipment to ensure products meet performance specifications and quality standards. Work may include both scheduled maintenance and urgent troubleshooting during downtime. This is a second shift position. Training will be provided on first shift before transitioning to second. **Key Responsibilities** + Follow all workplace safety policies and quality guidelines to ensure a safe and compliant work environment + Physically set up, connect, move, and tear down industrial water equipment, including pipes, valves, pumps, and electrical components + Program, evaluate, and troubleshoot instrumentation and control equipment, ensuring compliance with internal and customer standards + Record and report abnormal equipment functions or out-of-tolerance conditions, initiate corrective actions, and maintain proper documentation + Maintain detailed records of inspections, calibrations, maintenance, and repairs in accordance with established procedures + Reinstall, test, calibrate, and maintain instruments or devices after servicing is complete + Communicate with customer personnel regarding calibration, repairs, or operational issues as needed + Adhere to all approved equipment, calibration, maintenance, and safety procedures + Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition + Interpret programming logic for Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and other control devices + Perform run-offs and testing of electrical enclosures to ensure proper functionality **Requirements** + High School Diploma or GED + Experience with electrical or plumbing work is preferred; willing to train the right candidate + Must be comfortable working with electrical systems, including exposure to **480V power** (safety training provided) + Proven experience with calibration, maintenance, and repair of field instruments and control systems + Ability to troubleshoot and evaluate instrumentation and control equipment + Knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and ability to interpret programming logic + Familiarity with documentation and reporting of maintenance and calibration records + Understanding of safety and quality compliance standards in an industrial environment + Ability to perform complex repairs and support both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance + Experience with testing and run-off of electrical control systems + **Physically capable of performing work that is approximately 50% hands-on labor, including lifting, moving, setting up, and tearing down industrial water systems, pipes, and electrical components** + Comfortable working in a physically active role while maintaining a clean and organized workspace + Flexibility to perform other duties as required to support operational needs **What We Offer** + Health, dental, and vision insurance available on your first day of employment + Generous retirement savings plan with company match + Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays + Paid parental leave + Tuition reimbursement + Career advancement opportunities and professional development programs + Employee wellness, recognition, and discount programs **Compensation** The estimated salary range for this position is $31 to $33 per hour. Starting pay is based on several factors, including relevant experience, skills, and work location.
