Johnson Service Group is seeking a full-time Industrial Instrument & Controls Support Technician for our client in the San Gabriel Valley, CA.

Our established industrial services provider is seeking a skilled Industrial Instrument and Controls Support Technician to join their team. This hands-on position is essential for ensuring safe and efficient operations in a dynamic, equipment-intensive environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with industrial electrical systems, including switchgear panels, VFDs, and energized equipment, along with a solid understanding of NEC codes and troubleshooting practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot main switchgear and motor control systems.

Wire, test, and replace relays; apply relay logic effectively.

Perform lockout/tagout procedures and work with power systems ranging from 120V to 480V.

Utilize multimeters to test voltage, continuity, and amperage with precision.

Adjust VFD and soft start parameters as needed.

Relocate panels and perform wiring updates in compliance with NEC standards.

Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical diagrams.

Work safely in and around energized panels using appropriate PPE.

Use torque wrenches and various hand tools to ensure accurate connections.

Ensure all work meets applicable electrical codes and internal quality standards.
Additional Responsibilities:
Install conduit systems (EMT, rigid, seal-tight) up to 4".

Maintain organized, clean workspaces and strictly follow safety protocols.
Work Schedule & Conditions:
Standard hours: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM.

Overtime may be required based on operational demands.

Occasional emergency assignments may occur on weekends.

Must be open to traveling to different work sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of a Motor Control Course or equivalent training.
Salary:  $24-$30/hr.
