Roles & Responsibilities:
An Instrument Engineer with strong Instrumentation & Control back-ground, who can be a Leader, Technical Expert, Reviewer and executor for Instrument Design Documents and very good at interpreting Maintenance information for all types of turbo machineries & allied equipment for oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical plants.
Should have proven instrumentation knowledge, automation & control systems experience, field installation, knowledge of upgrades applied to these systems.Should have experience in field Instrumentation, Automation and ESD Systems. Should have an experience in managing I&C related documentation, packages, projects on upgrades and field installation.Should be able to manage digital aspects for data review and verification. Accountable for proof-of-concept pilot, validating and completing all engineering data (drawings, reports, datasheets, maintenance system updates, procedures)Good engineering judgement to optimise equipment inspection test intervals.Preparation of Data sheet and Loop drawings.Able to revive and find defects in the P & IDs, Data Sheets and instrument loop drawings.Collating information from diverse repositories.Set a standard rhythm for quarterly review and semi-annual verification of data. Propose a strategy for digitizing this information. Implement the review and verification steps.Should have capability for CV calculations.Need to participate in HAZOP and PHA’s.Should be able to train and mentor junior team member by creating training material and conducting training sessions.Should be able to support cross-discipline functionality and other work.Optimization of Alarms and PM’s (Equipment strategy update-preparation, Criticality assessment, etc.).Work Experience
Required Qualification and competencies:
Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering 5 to 15 years of experience in refinery, petrochemical and oil and gas industries.Experienced with Instrumentation Equipment and Design preparationLead, support, executes and facilitates best practice sharing, process enhancement and special initiatives to drive reliability efficiency and effectiveness.
Fluent written and oral communication in English.Knowledge in reading equipment data sheets, vendor manuals.Good interpersonal skills and working collaboratively with the other teams.Required Soft-Skills:
Able to prepare information and communication in a clear and concise manner for different audiences.Thinks clearly during rapidly changing situations and respond to questions even when unexpected.Collaborate with multiple stake holders and improve company core values and business.Continually improve technical and behavioural skills as they relate to this role through ongoing training and benchmarking activities.Knows how organizations and industry works and how to obtain results through formal channels and informal networks.Comprehends and integrates available data into usable formats to assist with work; Asks questions to understand problems and gathers information needed to identify cause.Desired/ Must have skills:
Exposure to plant downstream/midstream/ Upstream facilities engineering activities.Meets quality standards in executing tasks and assure that all details of a given tasks are accomplished.Show resilience and work effectively after a setback or disappointment to adjust and pursue goals until they are achieved.Worley SPI-database, and other digital tool, AssetWise Asset Lifecycle Information Management (ALIM)Engineering database (including datasheets, drawings, maintenance information etc.)CMMS like Maximo or SAP user.Share point work capabilities.
