Position Summary: The Phyllis and Harvey Sandler School of Social Work at Florida Atlantic University is seeking a full-time Instructor and Practicum Education Coordinator for our Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) programs. This is a 12-month, non-tenure-track faculty position with primary responsibilities housed in the Office of Practicum Education.The ideal candidate will be committed to generalist and clinical social work education, the preparation of future professionals, and improving the lives of the populations we serve. Applicants should demonstrate a deep understanding of practicum education and be dedicated to fostering student success through innovative placement strategies, academic instruction, and meaningful community partnerships. About the School The Sandler School of Social Work is housed within Florida Atlantic’s College of Social Work and Criminal Justice and is home to more than 650 BSW students and over 300 MSW students, including an online MSW program. We also offer a Doctorate of Social Work program—the first of its kind in the state—and continue to expand our academic programs, research initiatives, and community partnerships. Primary Responsibilities + Teach practicum education integrative seminars and other related courses at undergraduate and graduate levels (in person and online; campuses include Boca Raton and Davie). + Develop new community agency partnerships in and out of state to support and enhance the operations of Practicum Education. + Match students with appropriate community agencies for practicum education and oversee placement logistics. + Conduct regular virtual and in-person site visits to assess and monitor placement appropriateness and quality. + Develop and maintain a current database of students and agency placements. + Research and cultivate new practicum education opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students, including the integration of emerging technology, such as AI/VR. + Collaborate with the FAU legal office to create and manage practicum education contracts in compliance with CSWE Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS), School, and University requirements. + Schedule and manage twice-yearly Practicum Education Instructor Supervisory Trainings for community-based instructors. + Attend and chair Student Success Conferences to provide guidance and support to students throughout their internships. + Provide individual advising and direction to students preparing for practicum education. + Develop and implement strategies to ensure on-time placement and enhance student monitoring. + Prepare yearly scheduling for all practicum education-related functions and activities. + Contribute service to the School, College, University, and broader profession. Minimum Qualifications: • Master of Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program • Minimum of two years of post-MSW professional experience • Experience in practicum education and/or teaching in higher education, conducting professional training, or presentations • Experience in program administration and/or management Preferred Qualifications • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of Florida Salary: Competitive College or Department: School of Social Work Location: Boca Raton Work Days and Hours: N/A Application Deadline: 2025-09-12 Special Instructions to Applicant: This position is open until filled and may close without prior notice.
