Performs related duties as assigned. **Essential Functions:** + Assists with planning, organizing, and directing the operations of instructional science laboratories. + Works with the Chemical Hygiene Officer to maintain knowledge of and ensures compliance with federal and state regulatory, safety and health standards. + Assists with development, implementation, and oversight of work/lab protocols to ensure a safe and effective work and learning environment in support of student learning objectives. + Assists with monitoring and maintaining budgets for the operation of multiple laboratories, and may assist in ordering, receiving, and issuing supplies. + Assists with maintaining the inventory of equipment and expendable supplies for multiple laboratories. Provides access to Safety Data Sheets. Maintains specimens, as needed, using appropriate techniques. + Oversees preparation of material for assigned laboratory sessions in concert with the faculty. Assists faculty to ensure syllabus and schedule coordination of activities. + Assists with maintenance for laboratory and assists supervisor in ordering replacement components as needed for all lab related equipment. + May supervise the performance of student laboratory assistants and laboratory technicians.
