Description We are looking for a dedicated Instructional Assistant to join our team in Fort Myers, Florida, within the Education industry. This Contract-to-Permanent position focuses on providing instructional support to students with limited English proficiency while collaborating with teachers, staff, and administrators to ensure a positive and productive learning environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to fostering academic growth and maintaining compliance with state and district guidelines. Responsibilities: • Administer language proficiency tests, document results, and communicate findings to relevant teachers. • Notify parents about their child’s program status and ensure their involvement as outlined in program procedures. • Develop and maintain English Language Learner (ELL) plans for eligible students, ensuring compliance with district and state regulations. • Monitor student progress, identify candidates for program exit, and assess eligibility for extended funding if necessary. • Retrieve prior school records to assist in crafting individualized learning plans for ELL students. • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and administrators to support classroom operations and school-wide initiatives. • Maintain accurate documentation, records, and reports related to ELL students while adhering to confidentiality standards. • Assist with school arrival, dismissal, and attendance procedures, including verifying attendance data and making follow-up calls. • Support communication efforts between the school and parents of ELL students to foster engagement and understanding. Requirements • Demonstrated ability to work with over-age and adult learners. • Proficiency in both written and oral communication, with fluency in a Spanish and English. • Ability to independently manage tasks and collaborate effectively within a team. • Strong interpersonal skills to model positive behaviors for adults entering the workforce.
