Morgan Stanley is seeking a Program Lead to join the Institute for Inclusion (IFI) team based in New York City. The Institute for Inclusion aims to catalyze and accelerate an integrated and transparent diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy to deliver the full potential of Morgan Stanley and drive meaningful change within our Firm and beyond.
The Program Lead will report to IFI's Strategy Lead. This role will help to manage, support, and execute the signature philanthropic initiative, Equity in Education and Career Consortium, and related efforts. The initiative convenes a consortium of nonprofit and community-based organizations that support students in achieving stronger education and career outcomes. The Consortium Partners primarily serve low-to-moderate income students globally by supporting pathways to college and career success through increasing career exposure, skills training, mentorship, coaching, and creating a support system for students throughout their educational and career journeys. The role will also design and oversee the Marketplace efforts. This initiative seeks to invest to advance economic outcomes in underserved communities through our products, services, business practices, spending, thought leadership and convenings.
What you'll do in the role:
- Project manage the development and execution of consortium offerings in partnership with external partners, internal HR and D&I teams, Community Affairs, working groups and other stakeholders
- Support and assist in facilitating working group and partner organization meetings, coordinating all meeting materials and logistics
- Serve as the event management lead for all consortium convenings, events and activities, liaising with external partners, speakers, training vendors, events team, multimedia team and other teams as needed
- Manage relationships across external partner organizations in collaboration with internal stakeholders such as our Business Unit (BU) Leadership, Community Affairs, Communications, Marketing, Recruiting and Global D&I
- Lead coordination on employee engagement opportunities partnering with the Community Affairs and D&I teams
- Serve as the project manager in delivering other IFI philanthropic initiatives
- Maintain team calendar, program tracker, and other organizational tools
Qualifications
- Familiarity with best practices and innovations within the education and career attainment landscape for underserved students
- Strong demonstrable skills in project/program and event management
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to shift from highly strategic to execution-oriented tasks
- Excellent at building and maintaining relationships; is collaborative and can work effectively with diverse colleagues and peers to deliver business results
- Ability to independently drive assignments to completion and ability to manage multiple competing priorities

What you'll bring to the role:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
- 6+ years of direct and substantive experience in program management, diversity and inclusion, learning and development, philanthropy, nonprofit, education, or a consultancy focused on diversity and inclusion
- Critical to the role is having a consultant mindset, strong partnership and relationship building skills and experience interacting with, advising and influencing HR, senior line leadership and employees at all levels
- Experience in education and career success strategies for underserved students
- Experience working with non-profits, foundations and social enterprises

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
