Summary/Objective: Directs and coordinates activities of installation operations by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly manages 10 or more employees at our Perry, GA installation facility. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees. Planning, assigning, and directing work: appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Duties and Responsibilities: Plans installation operations, establishing priorities and sequences for installation in primarily Blue Bird School Bus products. Will need to physically perform installs and/or repairs to a bus Prepares installation schedules and coordinates installation activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications. Reviews installation reports to ensure efficiency and quality of installation services. Reviews and approves weekly payroll reports. Ensure all employees work with a safety mindset and adhere to all company policies Move/Operate/Shuttle buses in a safe manner Properly maintain company owned tools and equipment Maintain quality control during the installation process and adherence to the ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System standard. Handle all warranty responses in a timely manner Responsible for receiving, gathering, pickup/delivery and disposal of all parts and materials utilized in the installation process. While managing any discrepancies, shortages, or overages As well as interfacing with the companies therein Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to Human Resources Manager and Technical Services Manager for action. Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job site can be loud. Working indoors, office environment at times May stand/ walk for several hours at a time Exposure to computer screens. Qualifications: 2 years of college preferred and a minimum of a high school education and 5+ years of factory-related experience. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office including D365 Management / Leadership experience at least 5+ years required. Essential Functions: Ensure operations are running effectively in the areas of safety, quality, efficiency / productivity, cost, inventory levels and team member morale. Provide direction and motivation to your team focusing on safety, quality, efficiency, cost, and morale. Conduct daily production area audits to ensure procedures for safety, quality, equipment, and training are being followed and all aspects of manufacturing are effective including correcting sub-standards. Development of leaders reporting to you. Ensure all departmental procedures are compliant with quality and environmental management systems and programs. Monitor daily build sheets and analyze efficiency rates and downtime to ensure customer requirements are being met. Lead identification of manufacturing problems and eliminate waste. Develops, leads, monitors, and participates in a manufacturing continuous improvement system. Implement, monitor, and maintain a clean, organized department. Assists team in developing, planning, maintaining the budget and adjusting as needed to achieve targets Review and track Manufacturing Key Performance Indicators (KPI) including leading problem solving for negative trends or goals not met. Participates in management discussions and planning sessions to help formulate cost reduction, product improvement, and problem-solving activities. Develops and maintains positive team member relations centered on mutual trust, dignity, respect, fairness, consistency, two-way communication, teamwork, and harmony. Provides direction and motivation to team members emphasizing quality, efficiency, productivity, cost reduction, safety and health, and morale. Ensures further development of group leaders, team leaders, and team members through performance evaluation, development of training plans, feedback, coaching, corrective action, and cascade training. Update team member training matrix and schedule any needed training. Consult with engineering department related to design changes/ issues Supervisory Responsibility: This position has the following positions reporting to it: group leads/production supervisors/ team leads. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. This position requires Personal Protective Equipment. Protective Equipment supplied by the company includes Coating suit, Coating Boots, Spray Socks, Respirator, Work Gloves, Safety Glasses, and Ear Plugs. Employees may be required to provide additional Protective Equipment (Safety Shoes, etc.). Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time salary position, and hours/days of work are decided by production schedules and your reporting manager. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel: Travel will be minimal and would be primarily local during the business day. Preferred Education and Experience: 2+ years of experience in a production environment High School Diploma or GED Technical School is a plus Knowledge of Mobile Air Conditioning 609 Certification is a plus CDL is a plus Former employment as a technician or mechanic is a plus Work Authorization/Security Clearance: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
