Inspector - Weapons
Amentum
**Purpose:** Performs scheduled and unscheduled inspections on small arms repairs.
**Essential Duties & Responsibilities:**
+ Performs initial inspections to determine the nature and extent of small arms repairs required.
+ Performs final inspections on small arms after the repairs have been completed.
+ Disassembles and examines parts and assemblies as required and reassembles and adjusts components.
+ Determines serviceability of parts and diagnoses and determines remedies for failures commonly encountered in the repairs of weapons systems using a variety of diagnostic techniques and TMDE with little or no supervision.
+ Prepares records of inspection/tests and makes them available to the QA/QC Department.
+ Obtains approval prior to repair actions on warranted items.
+ Cross trains when required to ensure maximum flexibility and possession of technical skills in the development and maintenance of quality programs.
+ Ensures compliance with government and corporate regulations, company SOPs, directives, and technical manuals to establish and maintain a quality management program.
+ Maintains cross-talk with QA/COR representatives.
+ Conducts surveillances and performs other administrative duties as required within the Quality Control Office.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
**Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
**Education:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent required.
**Experience:**
+ 5 years of experience in small arms repair required.
+ 2 or more years of quality control/inspection experience required.
+ US Army MOS 45K, USMC 2111 or another military/civilian equivalent required.
**Specialized Knowledge and Skills:**
+ Must have good knowledge of diagnostic tools and forms used at the unit and DS/GS level.
+ Must have good knowledge of tools and repair equipment.
+ Must have the ability to analyze and interpret US Army Technical Manuals with relation to small arms repair.
+ Must be able to prioritize responsibilities in order to handle a demanding workload.
+ Must have excellent interpersonal, oral and written English communication skills.
+ Excellent organizational skills.
+ Must be customer service focused.
**Certification, License & Clearance:**
+ Tier 1 NACI required for all U.S. Citizens.
+ U.S. Citizenship required.
**Facility credentials/authorization required** : Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
**Work Environment, Physical Demands & Mental Demands:**
+ Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively.
+ Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
+ Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
+ Must be able to lift up to 50 Lbs.
