Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inspector (Electrical / Mechanical) for our STP Projects in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of electrical  or mechanical systems in Sewage Treatment Plant projects.

The Electrical / Mechanical Inspector will support the construction supervision team on Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) projects under Dubai Municipality by ensuring that all electrical and mechanical works are executed in accordance with project specifications, approved drawings, and applicable authority standards. The role involves on-site inspection, quality control, and technical coordination with contractors and the supervision team.

Job Duties:

Conduct daily inspections of electrical and mechanical works related to STP infrastructure such as pumps, blowers, valves, piping, HVAC, control panels, cabling, and instrumentation.Ensure contractor’s adherence to approved shop drawings, method statements, DEWA/DM specifications, and QA/QC procedures.Monitor installation, alignment, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems (e.g., pipe networks, pumps, mechanical fittings) and electrical systems (e.g., LV/MV panels, SCADA, cable trays, grounding).Verify contractor compliance with authority standards including DEWA, Dubai Municipality, and project-specific quality and safety protocols.Coordinate with Resident Engineer (RE) and Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) to address site challenges and implement corrective measures.Track progress of MEP works, report deviations, and raise site observations/non-conformance reports when required.Document and report daily inspections, material deliveries, test results, and site activities.Support the supervision team during equipment start-up, testing, and final handover, including witnessing of FAT/SAT and commissioning tests.Review and verify as-built drawings and installation records submitted by the contractor.Liaise with client representatives during inspections and provide technical clarification as needed.Monitor adherence to approved health and safety procedures during execution of MEP works.Provide input on RFIs, technical submittals, and inspection requests related to electrical and mechanical works.

QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering required; Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical and mechanical systems inspection, preferably in STP projectsDiploma, minimum of 10 years experienceIn-depth knowledge of Sewage Treatment Plant systems and processesStrong understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principlesFamiliarity with local and international engineering standardsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsExceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain high accuracy in workProficiency in using various inspection tools and equipmentStrong communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to read and interpret complex technical drawings and specificationsExperience with AutoCAD or similar design software is a plusProfessional engineering certification (e.g., PE) is highly desirableKnowledge of project management principlesExperience working in the UAE or Middle East region is advantageousWillingness to work on-site and travel as required for project inspections
