Job DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Civil Inspector to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of various construction projects throughout the region.
Conduct thorough inspections of civil engineering projects, including buildings, roads, bridges, and other infrastructureVerify compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and project specificationsPrepare detailed inspection reports, documenting findings and recommendationsCollaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to address any issues or non-conformitiesPerform regular site visits to monitor construction progress and qualityReview and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical specificationsEnsure proper implementation of safety protocols on construction sitesMaintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and project documentationStay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices in civil engineeringParticipate in team meetings and contribute to process improvementsTravel within Abu Dhabi and surrounding areas as required for inspection projectsQualificationsHigh School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering strongly preferredProven experience in civil engineering inspection or related fieldIn-depth knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and construction methodsFamiliarity with local and international building codes and safety regulations, particularly those applicable in Abu Dhabi and the UAEProficiency in using various inspection tools and equipmentStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate recordsOutstanding written and verbal communication skills in EnglishAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specificationsPhysical fitness to perform field inspections in various environmental conditionsRelevant industry certifications, such as FHWA-NHI-130055 or 130056 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges, are highly desirableProficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and inspection softwareStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyValid driver's license and ability to travel within Abu Dhabi and surrounding areas for inspection projectsAbility to work effectively in diverse cultural environmentsCommitment to maintaining the highest standards of professional integrity and ethicsAdditional InformationAbout AECOM
