Summary Job title: Inside Sales Representative Job ID: 202597590002 Department: Syracuse-Baldwin Hall TRC Location: NY-Syracuse Description Summary: The Inside Sales Representative position is responsible for developing customer relationships, preparing proposals, responding to RFQs, and providing technical pre-sales support. You will play a crucial role in driving revenue by supporting the sales of Rockwell Automation and Encompass Partner products. Provide professional services with product knowledge, problem solving, and order enhancement, and collaborate closely with outside sales, engineering, and customer service teams to ensure a seamless customer experience. Reports to: Solution Consultant Manager Minimum Qualifications: + Communication Proficiency + Customer/Vendor Focus + Personal Effectiveness/Credibility + Technical Capacity + Teamwork + Detail-oriented + Flexibility Preferred Qualifications: + 2+ years of experience in technical sales or inside sales in a high-tech/industrial automation environment. + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering, automation, or a related field preferred. + Two years’ industry specific experience, preferred + Familiarity with Rockwell Automation product lines (e.g., Allen-Bradley PLCs, Drives, HMI, and Software). + Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. + Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and quoting tools. Working Conditions: This job operates in a professional office environment and various warehouse locations and conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Supervisory Responsibilities: No Essential Job Functions: · Customer Support & Order Fulfillment: o Respond promptly to inquiries about Rockwell Automation products and Encompass Partner products, including pricing, lead times, and technical specifications. o Generate quotes, process purchase orders, and manage order tracking through the distribution system. o Ensure accurate and timely responses to customer needs across multiple communication channels. · Presales Technical Support: o Provide basic product selection guidance for Rockwell Automation, Encompass Partner products, and compatible components. o Support solution development in collaboration with field sales engineers and technical specialists. o Understand key applications in motor control, PLCs, safety, and networking. · Relationship & Account Management: o Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers (Rockwell/Encompass Partner), and internal departments. o Work closely with outside sales representatives to support account strategy and retention. o Actively identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within customer accounts. · Operational Excellence: o Utilize CRM platforms to log activity, manage pipeline, and track performance metrics. o Stay current on product updates, training sessions, and Rockwell and Encompass Partner promotions or programs. o Assist with returns, credits, and warranty issues when required.
