As an Inside Sales Engineer for the Flow Control Business Unit you will assist customers by identifying the best solution for their application; offer and sell complete product solutions; provide commercial and technical support to customers; always aim to provide the highest standards of customer service in accordance with the “Think Customer” principles; work with peers such as Remote Sales Supports Engineers, Outside Sales, Service Engineers, Product Managers and Business Unit Managers.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Qualify customer requests for quotation to ensure that a quote will meet the customers’ application and operational needs. Prepare customer quotations that are on time, technically accurate, commercially verified, offering the best all-round solution. Follow-up on quotations with customers as agreed with Outside Sales. Negotiate sales orders within agreed delegation of authority. Usage of CRM process and maintain accurate and complete records. Ensure that purchase orders are commercially complete and accurate before processing for order entry in accordance with relevant procedures. Answer customer questions. Provide advice on technical solutions and benefits. Communicate with manufacturing locations for queries regarding lead-time, specials, etc. Provide after-sales service to customers. Attend customer meetings as required. Ensure activities are carried out in line with agreed departmental important metrics. Attend relevant technical and commercial trainings as required to maintain a high level of product and process knowledge, including new products as and when released. Align with local and international Emerson Trade Compliance and Quality Management procedures, as well as the Emerson Ethics policy, with respect to all business activities.

To succeed in the role you’d typically need a combination of technical knowledge, commercial foresight, and strong communication skills Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, or similar) Valves background is considered a plus Ability to balance technical accuracy with commercial viability Customer focused attitude with a passion for providing high-quality service Fluent in Italian and English

A background or experience in industrial automation, valves/instrumentation, or process control systems is a strong plus Experience in preparing quotations, reviewing RFQs, and managing purchase orders Strong command of CRM tools to manage leads, track customer interactions, and support the sales process Proactive, meticulous, and attentive to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal) Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
