Job Title: Inpatient Phlebotomist - AMJob Description
We are seeking a dedicated inpatient phlebotomist to join our team full-time at a Level 1 trauma center. This role is perfect for individuals with a passion for working with a diverse patient population and who have experience in blood draws within an inpatient setting.
Responsibilities
+ Perform blood draws on patients in an inpatient setting.
+ Work with a diverse patient population, including pediatric and adolescent patients.
+ Conduct heel sticks and handle specimen collection accurately.
+ Utilize Epic for patient information management.
Essential Skills
+ At least 6 months of inpatient phlebotomy experience.
+ Proficiency in blood draw techniques, including pediatric draws.
+ Understanding of basic laboratory procedures and terminology.
+ Ability to correctly follow specimen collection procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with diverse populations, including those with social vulnerabilities or barriers to healthcare.
+ Familiarity with patients who have mental health challenges, opioid addiction, or unstable housing.
Work Environment
Work in a hospital setting with opportunities to gain experience in both inpatient and outpatient environments. Scheduled on rotating start times of 10:30 PM and 11:30 PM, with shifts every other weekend. This role offers the chance to build valuable experience in a dynamic and supportive Level 1 trauma center.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
