Position Summary
The Injury Prevention and Outreach Education Coordinator is responsible for reducing injuries within the community, developing a strategy, organizing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the injury prevention programs. The coordinator will utilize injury information, studies and reports to identify community needs and develop relevant injury prevention strategies and interventions based on data obtained from the local, statewide, and national Trauma Registry.Essential Functions
Develops and maintains the Tacoma General Trauma Injury Prevention Program: statistical data analysis, program planning, implementation and evaluation.Collaborates with local, state, and national injury prevention organizations/coalitions.Participates in community events, education programs, meetings, and maintains relationships with referring agencies and community members throughout the region.Participates in development of trauma care systems at community, state, and regional levels through West Regional EMS Injury Prevention CouncilServes as a liaison to referring physicians, hospitals, and EMS agencies.Monitors and audit risk-factor screening tools for inpatient trauma patients.Identifies, pursues and obtains sources of program support and/or grant funding.Requirements
Licensed Registered NurseBachelor’s degree in nursing or public health administrationMaster’s degree in public health, nursing, or equivalent preferredFive (5) years of experience in trauma, public health or related fieldTwo (2) years of experience in a trauma settingInjury Prevention experience preferredGrant writing experience preferredOur Values

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $112,674.00 - $183,810.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
