Purpose
Responsible for the day-to-day support operations, monitoring, and proactively maintaining the company's systems and technologies, including VMware, Windows Servers 2016-2025, Backups, Exchange, IIS, and other Applications and Networking technologies
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
A thorough working knowledge of Microsoft technologies such as Windows Server 2016-2025, Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, IIS Remote Desktop Servers, and other Windows Server roles and technologies commonly used at an enterprise
Server Administration and Management: Setup, install, configure, administer, maintain, monitor, and support physical and virtual servers, including 2016-2025, some Linux, and other Server Applications products on a heavy VMware ESXi environment
Server Application Management: Administration of server-bound applications such as Apache, IIS, Active Directory, Exchange, VMware, SharePoint, etc.
Follow and enforce IT standards and best practices to ensure a high degree of user satisfaction and high system availability
Provide Level 3 and higher technical support to escalated issues from other IT units within the SLA standards
Demonstrable experience in the administration, monitoring, and maintenance of VMware technologies such as EXSi, vCenter, vMotion, HA, RDS, vROP
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all supported computer systems and updates for each system change
Logging: Monitor and maintain a centralized logging server, aggregating logs and other monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Orion, LanSweeper, PFSens, etc., from critical systems
Problem solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to respond to common inquiries or escalations from other IT units
Remote Access: Configure and maintain remote access technologies and access such as Remote Desktop Services, VPN, SSL, etc.
Backup Systems: Manage, administer, and maintain Rubrik and Rapid Recovery Backup Systems
Storage: Manage and administer SAN/DAS/NAS technologies, Fiber/iSCSI Technology
Assist in the planning and execution of network and server technology migrations
Work independently with little supervision while providing clearly documented activities
Qualifications and Education Requirements
3+ years of experience in systems administration and other related technologies, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in system administration and management, Microsoft Certification is desirable (MTA, MCSA, MCSE)
Azure Fundamentals Certification is not required at this time, but it is desirable
Excellent working knowledge of VMware, vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter is a must
Basic knowledge and best practice of all the following Microsoft infrastructure applications: Windows Servers, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, Remote Desktop Services, Internet Information Services, and Web Farm technology
SharePoint experience is highly desirable
Working knowledge of the following infrastructure hardware: Dell and HP server hardware. Web and Spam Filters, Load, and WAN Link Balancers
Working knowledge of image-based backup technology is preferred
Excellent attitude and interpersonal skills
Problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues in an acceptable time
Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as needed
