Our Technical, Advisory, and Capability practice and Team Downer serves as one of the Major Service Providers delivering consulting services and Integrated Work Packages across the Department of Defence, leveraging innovative approaches such as mission and digital engineering to enable the successful delivery of critical Defence programs. 

 

This includes collaboration with key Defence entities, including Defence Digital Group (DDG), National Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG), Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG), and branches across the Navy, Army, and Air Force. 

 

We're interested in hearing from professionals specialising in Infrastructure Engineering & Management. 

 

We are continually seeking skilled Network Engineer, Technician, Installation Manager, Infrastructure Engineer, and Technician for our consulting services and Integrated Work Packages. 

 

If successful in securing a role, your work may involve: 

 

Strategic Planning & Management - Overseeing the development, maintenance, and disposal of Defence estates to ensure they remain fit for purpose. Facilities & Infrastructure Support - Providing essential infrastructure for Defence personnel across various locations. Environmental & Heritage Stewardship - Managing policies related to environmental sustainability and heritage conservation for Defence properties. Property Acquisition & Disposal - Handling leasing, divestments, and estate-related legal matters, including native title and offshore exploration issues. Security & Operational Readiness - Ensuring infrastructure supports national security objectives and long-term Defence plans 

 

We are seeking candidates with defence industry experience in the follow areas: 

 

Strong experience Infrastructure Engineering & Management within Defence, government, or professional services. Relevant qualifications or certifications (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, or equivalent). Expertise in civil, structural, or environmental engineering, urban planning, or architecture, with hands-on experience in infrastructure development and maintenance. Knowledge of Defence estate management, including property acquisition, leasing, and sustainability practices. Ability to collaborate with Defence personnel, contractors, and government agencies while ensuring security, compliance, and operational readiness 

 

Our work is highly complex and confidential; applicants must be Australian citizens with a minimum NV1 security clearance. Additionally, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may be necessary. In some cases, this may impose restrictions individuals who are dual citizens, permanent residency, or former nationality of specific countries as outlined in ITAR 126.1.
