Infrastructure Engineering Lead Analyst - Data Engineering
The Lead Analyst, working with the ETOC AIOps engineering team for Operational Insights, will develop solutions that improve Evernorth’s awareness of service impacting issues across the enterprise. The role will primarily focus on developing and maintaining data engineering solutions and supporting light application development.
The role ensures that business requirements are addressed through the development and support of efficient and reliable data pipelines in Apache Airflow, and development of supporting of containerized applications and services on OpenShift. The role will be responsible for responding to incidents due to failed ETL jobs, diagnosing, fixing, and escalating more complex issues as needed.
1. Data Pipeline Development: Building and maintaining data pipelines to ensure the smooth flow of data from various sources to the data warehouse.
2. Data Cleaning and Transformation: Cleaning and transforming raw data into a usable format for analysis and reporting.
3. ETL Processes: Implementing and managing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from different sources.
4. Data Quality Assurance: Ensuring the accuracy and consistency of data by performing regular data quality checks.
5. Database Management: Managing and optimizing databases to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
6. Collaboration: Working closely with data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
7. Documentation: Documenting data processes, workflows, and any changes made to the data infrastructure.
8. Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitoring data pipelines and systems for any issues and troubleshooting them as needed.
9. Learning and Development: Continuously learning new tools, technologies, and best practices in data engineering.
10. Participation in Team: Attends required team standups and team meetings.
Education:
· Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science, Analytics, Statistics, or 5+ years of professional experience in the field.
Experience:
· 5-8 years of experience in the Data Engineering field required
· 3 years of Python development experience in a professional setting (5 years if not from a computer science or similar degree)
· 3 years of Database query development in a professional setting (5 years if not from a computer science or similar degree)
Technical Skills:
Analytical and Technical Competence: Demonstrated proficiency in analysing complex datasets and formulating effective technical solutions.Python Development Expertise: Minimum of three years’ professional experience in Python programming.Database Query Development: Over three years of hands-on experience creating queries across databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, InfluxDB, Splunk, and Dynatrace.Data Quality Improvement: Skilled at identifying data irregularities and implementing corrective actions to enhance quality and reliability.MS Office Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications, with particular expertise in Excel functions including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and macros.Soft Skills:
