As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorganChase within Infrastructure Platforms, you will leverage your expertise in software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Job responsibilities
Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, with a focus on improving the data and systems running at scale, and ensures end to end monitoring of applicationsDrives to develop infrastructure engineering knowledge of additional domains, data fluency, and automation knowledgeDesigns systems that can scale efficiently to handle increased load and demand. This includes capacity planning and performance optimizationImplements robust monitoring and observability practices to detect issues before they impact users. This includes setting up alerts, dashboards, and loggingResolves most nuances and determines appropriate escalation pathExecutes conventional approaches to build or break down technical problemsDrives the daily activities supporting the standard capacity process applicationsPartners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statusesConsiders upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implicationsBe accountable for making significant decisions for a project consisting of multiple technologies and applications
Requires flexibility for shift work: Sun-Thu 11am-8pm US/CT or Tue-Sat 11am-8pm US/CT
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experienceStrong knowledge of Unix/Windows/AIXKnowledge of enterprise data base Oracle, SQL, NOSQL Data basesWorking knowledge of AWS backupsExperience with monitoring and troubleshooting in production environment to remediate backup and restore issuesStrong knowledge of one or more infrastructure disciplines such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessmentsStrong knowledge of one or more scripting languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.)Experience with multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private cloudsDrives to develop infrastructure engineering knowledge of additional domains, data fluency, and automation knowledgePreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skillsExperience with Data Protection solutions such as Cohesity or Commvault
