Day to Day Responsibilities:

The Infrastructure Engineer will primarily work closely with the Infrastructure & Solutions Architect on projects but will also participate in BAU support where required, provide guidance and support to less experienced colleagues on matters in which you may be a subject expert and to take part in the on-call rotation. Out of hours work will be required to complete some projects or system updates, these responsibilities are shared within the team.The Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for building, automating, deploying and managing end-to-end solutions within Kroll’s Hybrid Cloud data center environments.Working with the Solutions Designer, Development Architect and third parties as appropriate, the engineer will be responsible for ensuring that a technical design document describing the technical architecture for the program/project is produced.Understand the business and application requirements and translate into an Infrastructure solution.Ensure that all technology selected for the program conforms to the organization’s technical long-term strategy and standards.Become a central point of understanding of the end-to-end technical architecture for the solution concerned.Build IT Infrastructure solutions based on requirements making use of new and existing IT capabilities and services.

 

Support and build cloud compute, network & storage systems demonstrating an understanding of fundamental technologies.Provide after-hours support as required to address system outages and perform system updates/upgrades/modifications.Identify new processes or modify existing processes to improve efficiencies in the support and monitoring of the department’s production applications.To advise on capacity planning of the existing IT infrastructure, taking regular feedback from support team for existing issues and advise on technical architecture to overcome issues.Become a central point of understanding of the complete end-to-end technical architecture for the business area concerned.Provide value add in optimizing Technology for Business to reduce the cost of IT.

Essential Skills 

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:

Education Qualification - Should be a minimum BS in Computer Science or equivalent field.Total Experience –8+ years. Relevant Experience – 4+ yearsStrong verbal/written communication skills Extensive hands-on technical skills within a hybrid cloud and cloud native environment (AWS / Azure) designing and implementing market facing platforms.Experience implementing solutions through automation and the DevOps approach. Skills in infrastructure automation (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager) and building platform solutions leveraging the DevOps model. Experience of working within a Service environment and technical teams of IT experts with an understanding of the ITIL framework.Should be experienced in operational services, compliance, capacity analysis and vendor management.Experience of being able to highlight issues and solutions within the scope of existing platforms as well as while designing new solutions.Experience working with outsourced or offshore supplier support groups.

Technical / professional qualifications:

A broad understanding of enterprise-class technologies.Ability to interface with Applications Team to understand the application landscape and their interface to different systems in the IT landscape.Should have thorough Hands-On/Consulting/Planning experience (4+) in the following Technology Areas: Platform designCloud Technologies (AWS & Azure)Automation technologies (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager)Holistic view of IT InfrastructureThe candidate should have expert knowledge in one or two Domains and knowledge and Awareness in other areas as mentioned below:
