About This Opportunity As an Infrastructure Data Architect II , you will play a critical role in shaping our data architecture and infrastructure, optimizing data processes, and ensuring the reliability and performance of our database systems. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing database solutions primarily on SQL Server platforms. While expertise in SQL Server is essential, experience with Azure data platforms, MySQL, and ETL/ELT processes are considered a plus. The Database team provides 24x7 database and production support for all database systems ensuring their database integrity, security, and availability. Responsibilities Database Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain complex database solutions on SQL Server platforms, ensuring scalability, security, and performance. Database Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, query optimization, and database tuning to improve system efficiency. Escalation Support: Serve as an escalation point from the database operational support team for critical incidents. Data Modeling: Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and documentation, ensuring data integrity and consistency. Data Security: Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations. Backup and Recovery: Establish and manage database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and disaster recovery readiness. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, developers, and business analysts, to understand data requirements and provide database solutions. Cloud Integration: Leverage Azure data platforms to facilitate cloud integration and data migration as needed. ETL/ELT Processes: Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes to efficiently transfer and transform data between systems. Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database architecture, configurations, and processes. Mentoring: Provide guidance and mentorship to database administrators and team members. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and/or 10 years equivalent work experience with SQL Server database administration, SQL Server development or database architecture with a strong focus on SQL Server platforms. Expert knowledge and experience in SQL, T-SQL, and database design principles. Expert knowledge and experience in Database Performance, Tuning and Optimization (PTO) Experience with Azure data platforms and services is a strong plus. Knowledge of MySQL and other relational databases. Strong understanding of ETL and ELT processes and tools. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues. Experience in PowerShell a plus Experience in SolarWinds Monitoring (SQL Sentry and DPA) a plus Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
