Infotainment Platform Certification Engineer
Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the GM Global Technical Center on a full-time basis for all 5 workdays in a week.

The Role
As an Infotainment Platform Certification Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring GM’s infotainment systems meet Android Compatibility standards (CDD, GAS). You’ll dive deep into Android releases, execute XTS test suites, analyze results, and collaborate across teams to resolve issues. You’ll also develop automation tools to streamline certification workflows and work closely with development, integration, verification, validation, and program teams throughout the product lifecycle.
What You’ll Do
Reviewing Android Compatibility Definition Document (CDD) and Google Automotive Services (GAS) requirements
Executing and analyzing XTS test suites
Troubleshooting and resolving test failures across software components
Developing automation suites to improve certification workflows
Collaborating with engineers across development, validation, and program teams
Generating detailed reports and driving continuous improvement
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
3+ years of experience in Android, Automotive, or Embedded Software Development and Validation
Strong understanding of Android systems, frameworks, and validation methodologies
Proficiency in Java and Python; working knowledge of C++ and Kotlin
Ability to develop and maintain Android framework features and resolve bugs
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
Experience debugging and validating code in C, C++, Java, Kotlin, and Python on Android/Linux/QNX platforms
Familiarity with Google Compatibility Test frameworks (XTS), CDD, and GAS requirements
Hands-on experience with vehicle infotainment systems and communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet)
Proficiency with tools like VehicleSpy, CANoe, GitHub, Gerrit, Jenkins
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development processes
Experience with test automation frameworks such as ROBOT or AutoBot
Ability to contribute to AOSP for test case improvements
Comfortable working in an embedded automotive environment with diverse hardware/software tools
