AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.  This Information Security Systems Engineer will work within the Defense Acquisition framework for undersea combat systems supporting national defense priority mission areas.

Responsibilities Provides technical and programmatic Information Assurance Services to internal and external customers in support of network and information security systems.Designs, develops and implements security requirements within an organization’s business processes.Prepares documentation from information obtained from customer using accepted guidelines such as DITSCAP (DoD Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Process).Prepares Security Test and Evaluation plans.Provides certification and accreditation support in the development of security and contingency plans and conducts complex risk and vulnerability assessments.Support the engineering aspects of defense acquisition projects, including requirements development, system design, integration, verification, and validationContribute to the preparation and review of key acquisition documentation (e.g., SOWs, specifications, test plans, and technical reports)Assist in managing project schedules, technical risks, and resource allocationParticipate in technical meetings, milestone reviews, and supplier/vendor engagementsEnsure compliance with DoD acquisition policies, technical standards, and quality assurance processesCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams consisting of engineers, scientists, program managers, and government customersCompile data, analyze problems, and recommend effective solutions to support decision-makingSupport the implementation of cybersecurity requirements and system resiliency measures, as required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline (Master’s preferred)2-5 years of engineering experience in defense acquisition, systems engineering, or a related fieldSecurity + Certification Required, CSWF Certification is a plusFamiliarity with DoD acquisition lifecycle, policies, and standards (such as DoDI 5000 series)Hands-on experience with technical documentation, requirements management, and system integrationStrong communication, teamwork, and organizational skillsActive or re-in statable SECRET security clearance Pay Transparency Statement AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $67,800.00/Yr. - USD $113,200.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
