Summary

HII-Mission Technologies is currently seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support our customer, US Air Forces in Europe (USAFE), with the implementation of a Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) system. The ISSE will work closely with customers and staff in support of USAFE capture and refine information security requirements and ensures their integration into a new command and control system throughout Europe. Qualified applicants will have a background in cyber security, systems security engineering, computer systems engineering, or network engineering and technical expertise as it relates to the system security of military communication and data link systems.

What You Will Do Support the system design and security requirements for a real-time data connection between multiple locations throughout Europe with the ability to move information at various levels of classification. Monitor networks for security breaches and investigate a violation when one occurs Install and use software, such as firewalls and data encryption programs, to protect sensitive information Prepare reports that document security breaches and the extent of the damage caused by the breaches Conduct penetration testing, which is when analysts simulate attacks to look for vulnerabilities in their systems before they can be exploited Research the latest information technology (IT) security trends Develop security standards and best practices for USAFE concerning the JADC2 system Recommend security enhancements to management or senior IT staff Identify points of vulnerability and recommend mitigation strategies. Validate and verify system security requirements Analyze system security designs Design, develop, and implement security systems and components, including components for networking, computing, and support environments Provide technical guidance in Information Assurance concepts, principles, and standards including definition and use of IA-related metadata and threat and risk analysis Participate in the design of information and operational support systems Support the installation and maintenance of network solutions Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution Other tasks as required to support customer requirements Possess strong interpersonal skill Familiarization with DoD NIST Special Publication 800-53, Risk Management Framework, and DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide Process What We Are Looking For 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.  Experience with DoD vulnerability analysis and Industry Best Business Practices Familiar with Agile Software Methods and DevOps Clearance: Must have an active SECRET clearance and be able to obtain a TS clearance with SCI eligibility. Preferred: Bonus Points For... 10 years of recent specialized experience in military communications, military networks, or joint interface control systems. Experience operating complex data fusion systems, RF hardware, and relevant base defense weapon systems. Demonstrated communication skills; both written and oral concerning technical material and explaining these aspects to non-technical customers. Flexible with proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities. 8570 Compliant / CISSP (Mandatory) // CISSP-ISSEP (Preferred) 5+ years’ experience with DoD systems (Cyber Systems Preferred)
