Responsibilities:

Policy and Procedure Development:

Craft and deploy cutting-edge information security policies, protocols, and procedures to ensure the highest level of protection for our systems.

Risk Management:

Perform comprehensive risk assessments, uncover potential vulnerabilities, and devise strategic mitigation plans to fortify our information systems.

Security Auditing and Monitoring:

Conduct regular security audits, keep a vigilant eye on network traffic for any suspicious activity, and expertly manage security tools such as firewalls.

Incident Response:

Lead the investigation of security breaches, coordinate incident response efforts, and implement effective corrective actions to enhance our security framework.

Documentation:

Create and maintain essential security documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs) and security authorization packages, ensuring our systems remain compliant and secure.

Compliance:

Guarantee adherence to all relevant legal and regulatory requirements, such as the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF), keeping our organization at the forefront of security standards.

Technical Expertise:

Offer expert technical guidance on security architecture, hardware/software security, and encryption techniques, helping to shape our security strategy.

Training and Reporting:

Educate and train other staff members on security protocols and deliver regular security status reports to management, fostering a culture of security awareness.


Qualifications:

Required: 

Clearance:

An active DoD Secret.

Cybersecurity Tools:

Demonstrate proficiency with the latest security tools, intrusion detection systems, and firewalls.

NIST Frameworks:

Possess in-depth knowledge of NIST publications, especially the NIST 800 series.

Network and System Knowledge:

Bring experience with enterprise network devices (routers, switches, firewalls) and various operating systems (e.g., UNIX, Microsoft).

Security Documentation:

Showcase proven experience in creating and maintaining security authorization documentation.

Interpersonal Skills:

Exhibit strong communication and teamwork skills, essential for effective collaboration with IT staff and management.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$75,200-$158,100
