About the role
AkzoNobel is seeking an Information Security Specialist to strengthen our cyber resilience by ensuring IT projects, M&A integrations, and operational activities meet our security standards. You'll play a key role in identifying risks early and validating controls before systems go live.
Key responsibilities
Execute security readiness assessments using standardized tools and methodologies. Perform technical security reviews during IT project and M&A design phases. Coordinate and validate pre-production security checks, including vulnerability assessments and configuration reviews. Document findings, track remediation progress, and report to key stakeholders. Support IT and OT security assessments aligned with NIS2, CIS Controls, and ISO 27001. Conduct vendor and third-party security evaluations during M&A and procurement. Collaborate with IT operations and architecture teams to address identified security gaps. Provide support for non-project activities, including incident response and infrastructure changes.
Job requirements
Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience. Experience in cybersecurity or IT security operations. Strong technical knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud, and application security. Experience with vulnerability management tools and security assessment techniques. Familiarity with standards such as NIS2, CIS Controls, ISO 27001, and OWASP. Understanding of IT project lifecycles and change management. Strong analytical and communication skills. Security certifications (e.g., Security+, SSCP, CEH) are a plus.
