Informatics Software Engineer
**1. Primary Objective of the Position** As an **Informatics Software Engineer** , you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Abbott’s diagnostic informatics solutions. You’ll contribute to the development of cutting-edge features and scalable system designs that span from intuitive front-end interfaces to robust back-end services. Key Responsibilities** + Analyze customer needs and translate them into functional software designs and deliverables. + Develop high-performance, secure, and scalable applications using modern software engineering practices. + Create and maintain comprehensive documentation throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC). + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve and evolve informatics applications. + Ensure all work complies with Abbott’s Informatics Quality System and relevant regulatory standards. + Plan, execute, and track project milestones, timelines, and deliverables. + Support post-launch activities for on-market products. + Participate in Scrum-based development teams and contribute to agile ceremonies. + Communicate effectively with project managers, product owners, and R&D leadership regarding scope, risks, and budgets. + Occasional travel may be required based on project needs. **3. Qualifications & Experience** + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. + 1–3 years of progressive experience in software development, ideally within startups or mid-to-large corporations. + Proficiency in **Embarcadero Delphi** and **SQL** (Oracle preferred). + Strong foundation in **object-oriented programming (OOP)** and modern design patterns. + Experience with **unit, integration, and functional testing** , **Git** , and agile development methodologies. + Bonus skills include: + Python development + RESTful API design + Cloud technologies (AWS preferred) + Containerized applications + Unix/Linux environments + Mobile application development + Distributed systems and security software + Prior experience in **healthcare or life sciences** software development is a strong plus. + Fluent in English (spoken and written). **Why Join Us?** At Abbott, you’ll be part of a mission-driven team that’s transforming diagnostics through innovation.
