Key responsibilities:

Actively suggests and seeks ideas to improve quality, efficiency, and effectiveness. Able to prepare for group meetings by identifying key issues and expectations and can identify resources most likely to guide project tasks. Demonstrates competence as an Infection Preventionist and is an active advocate for patient safety. Independently develops educational material, delivers training on varied infection control, topics and exhibits a diverse skill set (surveillance, outbreak and post exposure contact investigation, analysis, education, communication). Demonstrates strategic thinking by understanding health system goals and applying these to planning projects and interventions. Rotation in the on call schedule will be managed independently. Helps lead the IP team preparation for Joint Commission and Regulatory readiness as well as assist with infection control policy revisions. Orients and mentor new departmental team members. Proficiency with utilization of NHSN definitions related to hospital acquired infections. 

Minimum Qualifications include any of the following:

RN License, Nursing degree and 2 years infection control experience or 3 years clinical related experience Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or Public Health and 2 years microbiology experience 3 years Microbiology experience with Medical Technologist Certification and Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology or Public Health2 years Epidemiology experience with a Masters Degree in Epidemiology and at least one year of clinical experience.Required Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology (CIC)
