Industry Technical Consultant I

Nalco Water, an Ecolab Company, is seeking an Industry Technical Consultant I to join our Global High Tech Division, supporting primary or secondary wastewater applications for the Microelectronics industry. Our team of Industry Technical Consultants plays a crucial role in supporting business growth, driving innovation, and transferring knowledge to ensure the success of our programs and clients’ operation.

As an Industry Technical Consultant, you will be primarily responsible for troubleshooting and solving complex clients’ problems, training technical audiences, recommending operational efficiency improvements for our clients’ utility systems and validating new innovative technologies.

What You Will Do:

Collaborate with field sales and corporate account teams to support industry-specific or strategic technical sales opportunities.Assists sales representatives and Corporate Account Managers in making industry-specific technical/application related sales calls and presentations in specific product and market applicationsWork closely with clients to understand their technology requirements, recommend suitable solutions, and provide training and support to ensure proper use of implemented systems.Lead problem solving efforts by utilizing various root cause analysis methodologies to resolve application or best practice concerns at customer sitesConduct Best Practice Gap Analysis to identify gaps in water treatment programs and recommend operational efficiency improvement projects in a documented report.Quantify operational savings for efficiency improvement projectsCollaborate with R&D and Marketing on Innovation projects, from ideation to launch, by completing Phase Gate milestones such as refining value propositions, defining operational savings, creating technical documentation, and educating internal and external stakeholders.Lead innovation pilot applications, technical trials and market trialsCreate, manage, and sustain comprehensive knowledge resources tailored for both associates and customers. Facilitate training for associates and customers, sharing your specialized knowledge to foster skill development and proficiency. 

Position Details:

This position is remote and will primarily support customers in North America with the potential for international exposure.Targeted accounts in the Microelectronics Industry 50% or more overnight travel required

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, etc) or Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, etc)Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in successful project implementation, engineering, technical sales, or field sales support experience Microelectronics industriesOperational experience with wastewater systems, including by not limited to: copper removal, fluoride removal, specialty systems, and/or biological treatmentProblem solving mindset and familiar with various root cause analysis methodsNaturally curious, accelerated speed of understanding, desire to teach and educate othersMust have a valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle RecordNo immigration sponsorship offered for this role

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional Engineer or EITDesign experience with wastewater systems, including by not limited to: copper removal, fluoride removal, specialty systems, biological treatmentExcellent team orientation, proactivity and sense of urgency in supporting business growth and market leadership through differentiated technology and expertiseSelf-motivated, pro-active, result-oriented professionalRecognized as an expert in industry or technology focusAbility to understand a total plant approach to water

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range

The total Compensation range for this position is $131,700-$197,500 which includes base pay and target incentive based on performance, per plan terms. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
