The Industry Advisor at Microsoft drives digital transformation for strategic accounts in process industries (e.g., chemicals, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas). This role combines deep technical expertise in process engineering with customer-oriented sales to deliver tailored solutions. The Industry Advisor collaborates with internal teams and external partners to align Microsoft’s Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven platforms with client needs, fostering innovation and strategic partnerships to achieve business outcomes. The main focus of the role will be on AI-driven R&D.
**Responsibilities**
+ **Strategic Engagement** : Build and maintain relationships with executive decision-makers in process industries to influence adoption of Microsoft’s digital transformation strategies.
+ **Solution Development** : Identify client needs, design technical solutions for process industry challenges, and partner with system integrators and software vendors to deliver pilots, proofs of concept, and scalable solutions.
+ **Industry Expertise** : Serve as a thought leader, providing insights on process industry trends, technical challenges, and competitive landscapes to guide account strategies and mentor teams.
+ **Planning and Execution** : Lead multi-year account planning for digital transformation, develop process industry-focused roadmaps, and execute go-to-market strategies with account teams and partners.
+ **Demand Generation** : Drive demand through industry events, envision innovative technical solutions, and align Microsoft offerings with client priorities to establish strategic partnerships.
+ **Team Leadership** : Mentor account teams, share process industry best practices, and provide feedback to enhance collaboration and solution development.
**Qualifications**
+ Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND extensive customer-facing experience in process industries (e.g., chemicals, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas) in roles such as operations, program management, consulting, or technical sales; OR
+ Bachelor’s Degree in the above fields AND substantial customer-facing experience in similar process industry roles; OR equivalent experience.
+ Deep technical expertise in R&D in process industries, including designing or optimizing systems for process industries.
+ Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical customers and executives while fostering effective collaboration. **Preferred** :
+ Master’s Degree AND advanced experience in process industry roles OR Bachelor’s Degree AND extensive experience in similar roles.
+ Significant leadership experience, including mentoring or managing teams.
