Industrial Relations Expert (m/f/d) 

 

Bayer SPA is looking for a highly motivated and brilliant Expert in Industrial Relations for our Milan Headquarters to join our HR Department.

 

He/She will ensure the definition and implementation of Bayer’s industrial relations strategy, as well as the management of collective labor agreements across all Bayer Group entities in Italy, to support corporate and management strategies.

All this is achievable thanks to the establishment and maintenance of positive relationships with employees and trade unions, minimizing conflicts in compliance with the collective agreements in force, regulations, and any other trade union agreements.

 

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deal with and relate to labor union representatives

Ensure the effective coordination of trade union activities within the Bayer Group in Italy and guarantee an adequate level of information and knowledge for trade union representatives regarding the company situation (e.g., investments, projects, workforce trends, etc.) across all legal entities, through meetings and agreements with union representatives, company management and HR Business Partners

Manage collective bargaining and trade union agreements

Ensure the correct preparation, negotiation, definition, drafting and implementation of collective agreements for legal persons of the Bayer Group in Italy, interacting with internal (RSU) and external (trade unions) trade union representatives, relating to the labor law issues provided for by the national collective bargaining agreement (eg. working hours, contractual bonuses, etc.) and company issues that affect the provisions on employment, in line with the scope of the position and the responsibilities assigned. Furthermore, guarantee an adequate level of information throughout the company (Management, personnel, HR officers) regarding local and national trade union agreements to ensure the effective implementation of the provisions of the agreements within all Bayer Group companies in Italy

Handle Merger & Acquisition projects

Ensure, in compliance with legal requirements, the union matter in M&A projects: relationship with employee representatives and unions involved, to keep them constantly informed on the projects, management of the union procedure defined by Italian law, and definition of terms and conditions applied to employees in M&A Projects

Participate in employers’ associations

Engage in initiatives organized by employers' associations (eg. Permanent Trade Union Committee - Federchimica, Farmindustria) to keep a continuous update on labor legislation and contribute to meetings to share knowledge on chemical/pharmaceutical issues (eg. renewal of collective agreement for the pharmaceutical industry



WHO YOU ARE:

 

Degree in Law is preferred; however, qualifications in Economics and Political Science are also consideredPostgraduate master’s in industrial relations will be considered a plusAt least 7/8 years of previous experience in a similar role Expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating collective bargaining agreements and trade union accords in compliance with applicable labor laws and corporate policiesStrong knowledge of the National labor relations regulatory frameworkProven experience in complex and multinational contexts related Ability to manage complex stakeholders at multiple levels and to manage ambiguityStrong project management capabilities combined with effective teamwork skills to drive successful collaboration and achieve project objectivesResidence or domicile in Lombardy is preferredFluent in English and Italian mother tongue
