Industrial Process Engineer
Location: Crawley – Onsite
Hours: 37 hours per week


As an Industrial Process Engineer (IPE) at Thales, you will play a vital role in supporting our existing product lines and driving continuous improvement on the production floor.

You will focus on the later stages of the Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) process, ensuring successful transition and ongoing production of products while enhancing manufacturing processes and the work environment.


Key Responsibilities:

Support the industrialisation process, particularly from MRL stages 6 to 8.Influence and collaborate with the Industrial Engineering team to promote best practices and continuous process improvements.Provide hands-on support to production teams to drive efficiency, quality, and compliance.Lead and participate in improvement activities using Lean and InCIght methodologies.Support MRL assessments and Production Readiness Reviews (PRR), and follow up on action items.Configure and maintain ERP and MES systems to enable smooth manufacturing workflows for both in-house and supply chain items.Apply PFMEA and risk analysis to identify and mitigate production risks.Maintain 5S standards and support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities on the shop floor.Manage Bill of Materials (BOMs), routings, measurement instructions, and non-conformance issues.Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards (ISO, IPC, etc.).Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) through shopfloor systems.Provide support for First Article Inspections (FAIs) and ongoing production challenges.


About the Team:
You’ll be part of a dynamic Industrial Engineering department, working alongside Industrial Process Engineers, Senior Engineers, Industrial Architects, and Cost Engineers. Together, we ensure new products move smoothly from bid and design phases into efficient, cost-effective production, guided by principles of ‘Design for Manufacture’ and ‘Design to Cost’, while considering industrial capabilities and supply chain factors.


The Person We’re Looking For:

Proven experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering role, ideally supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and production phases.Solid understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.Excellent communication and analytical skills with a collaborative, enthusiastic approach.Flexible and adaptable mindset to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.Committed to upholding health and safety standards and promoting a safe workplace.
