Career Opportunity

We are seeking a certified Maintenance Millwright (433A) for our Etobicoke Plant.   The Maintenance Millwright is responsible performing a variety of skilled mechanical work in maintenance, installation, testing, troubleshooting and repair of equipment in a unionized environment. To be considered for this position, you must be able to work on all shifts Monday to Friday (days 6:30 am, and afternoons 2:30 pm).  Shifts rotate weekly. The position reports to the Maintenance Manager. Starting wage for a certified Electrician is $43.29. Shift premiums for afternoon($0.75/hour)

All successful applicants must be able to provide a satisfactory criminal background check, and pre-placement medical.  

How will you impact WestRock:

Installing, aligning, maintaining and repairing machinery and mechanical equipmentInspecting and examining machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctionAdjusting machinery and repairing or replacing defective parts.Operate various tools, instruments and equipment used in the testing, aligning and repair of mechanical equipmentOperate with advanced hand tools both powered and manual.Operate hoist, winch, or hydraulic boom as needed.Set up and operate a variety of machine tools such as a drill press, lathe and/or welding equipment. Use acetylene welding/cutting torch and combination welding proceduresOperate maintenance vehicles including scissor lift, boom lift and forklifts.Responsible for the overall Safety and cleanliness of equipment and area.Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.Participating in safety audits and adhering to workplace safety policies and regulations.Overtime is required.Perform other duties as assigned.
  

What you need to succeed:

Advanced skills in mechanical trade license.Advanced troubleshooting skillsMust be Red Seal certifiedMinimum of 5 years’ experience.Solid technical problem solving and communication skills.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, schematics and procedure manuals.  May require the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  May require the ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization.Attention to detailAbility to work well in a team environmentTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of and basic computer skills.Positive, can-do attitudeWillingness to go the extra mile to get it right
