To repair, test, calibrate, and install all controlling, integrating, indicating or graphic instruments and meters.
Materials
Cleaners, solder, oxygen, acetylene, repair parts, pipe, tubing, paint, electronic tubes, condensers, transformers, resistors, etc.
Procedure
Instruct plant personnel as to instrument operations.Instruct and train helpers.Analyze instrument drawings and wiring diagrams.Dismantle, clean, inspect, repair, and/or replace parts on instruments, meters, relays, regulators, electronic, and test equipment, etc.Fabricates parts as needed.Installs, tests, and calibrates new or repaired instruments, meters, electronic and test equipment, etc.Works in shop or field as required.Keeps working area clean.Qualifications
Proficient in troubleshooting low-voltage sensors (0-50VDC) and signal communications (Ethernet/IP)Strong understanding of 4-20mA, 0-10V, and loop-powered devices.Skilled in calibrating and troubleshooting thermocouples, pressure transducers, flow sensors, oxygen analyzers, and string encoders.Ability to perform loop checks, span/zero adjustments, and sensor verification for precision instrumentation.Familiar with PLC-based instrumentation interaction, including analog and digital I/O troubleshooting.Experience diagnosing and resolving control valve issuesExperience in troubleshooting vacuum systems, including vacuum pumps, gauges, and leak detectionAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs to troubleshoot instrumentation circuits.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving instrumentation failures.Ability to work independently and collaboratively to minimize equipment downtimeUtilization of LOTO (lock out Tag out) / safe work practices and proceduresEquipment: calibrations of gauss, flow meters, scales. /*generated inline style */ RelocationRelocation is authorized for this position.
