Job Description
We are seeking an Industrial or Mechanical Engineer to join our Industrialization/DFM team, focusing on product industrialization, design for manufacturing, and manufacturing engineering. This role requires a strategic thinker who can collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing processes to meet production goals, ensure product quality, product cost, and product performance. The Product Industrialization Engineer will be responsible for being involved throughout the entire product development or engineering change lifecycle, from initial concept through manufacturing and launch. This position demands a hands-on approach to problem-solving, process improvement, and the implementation of best practices in design and manufacturing engineering.
ResponsibilitiesOversee product industrialization processes, ensuring smooth transition from design to full-scale manufacturing.Remain well versed in manufacturing techniques such as pipe bending, welding and brazing, sheet metal fabrication, machining and assembly operations.Collaborate with design, R&D, and production teams to develop and implement design for manufacturing strategies.Ensure released information for manufacture aligns with global manufacturing standards and is up to date with manufacturing best practices.Oversee BOM transformation and ensure the accuracy, connection, and completeness.Contribute to the definition and fulfillment of the definition of done for projects and changes in a timely and cost-effective manner.Prepare data and product comparisons for design for manufacturing workshops, make/buy decisions, and return on investment for equipment.Participate in Kaizen events and address quality concerns to represent improvements needed from the design team.Provide on-site production support as a representative of the product design key to project timelines.Understand material process flow and process flow mapping, and be fluent in process definition and documentation methods.Maintain a strong focus on health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.Quarterly travel to factories in the US Southwest or Mexico in support of project and improvement efforts.Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited four-year College or University.Experience in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Design.Experience reviewing drawings, schematics, and models and providing helpful feedback.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions based on data and analysis.Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in manufacturing and design for manufacturing.Working knowledge of PLM, 3D modeling, and ERP/MES systems software.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience on the factory floor in product and process development.Experience identifying key elements requiring control plans in support of Manufacturing Engineering.LEAN Manufacturing experience.Experience in agile project management environments.Spanish language proficiency is highly preferred.Work Environment
This is a hybrid role with 3-4 days per week onsite at the JADEC facility. The work environment fosters collaboration and innovation, with opportunities for quarterly travel to factories in the US Southwest or Mexico. Standard benefits are provided, including PTO and holidays.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
