Industrial Engineer
Adecco has partnered with a Global Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) company in hiring a Full Time, Direct Hire **Industrial Engineer.** This company is supporting production for the Artificial Intelligence industry. **Industrial Engineer** **Location:** San Jose, CA (Production Site) **Department:** Manufacturing & Engineering **Reports To:** Engineering Manager or Senior Manufacturing Leader **About Us** The Company is a global leader in smart manufacturing and precision technology. As a part of our growing U.S. operations, we’re looking for innovative problem-solvers passionate about building efficient, scalable production systems. **Position Overview** The **Industrial Engineer** is responsible for optimizing and supporting end-to-end manufacturing processes for printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA), with a focus on surface mount technology (SMT) operations. This role partners with cross-functional teams to ensure design-for-manufacturability (DFM), boost production yield, streamline workflows, and enhance tooling and testing capabilities. **Key Responsibilities** + Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot processes for SMT and PCBA assembly operations. + Conduct **Design of Experiments (DOE)** to improve yield, reduce rework, and maximize line efficiency. + Define tooling and equipment requirements for new PCBA processes, including reflow soldering, selective soldering, and conformal coating. + Develop and implement **Design for Manufacturability (DFM)** guidelines in collaboration with design engineering. + Identify production bottlenecks and lead root cause analysis with sustainable corrective actions. + Provide real-time support to production teams and ensure seamless communication with design engineers. + Oversee test strategy development and ensure uptime through critical spares planning. + Manage process documentation, production SOPs, and equipment work instructions. + Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to define tooling strategies and lead product transitions from NPI to volume manufacturing. + Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to improve production performance, layout, and cost-effectiveness. + Participate in design reviews with a focus on DFM/DFT input and continuous improvement. + Support part obsolescence strategies and agile process adaptation to design changes. **Preferred Qualifications** + Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline). + 2+ years’ hands-on experience with SMT or PCBA process engineering. + Proficient in SMT pick-and-place systems, reflow ovens, conformal coating, and through-hole soldering equipment. + Familiar with Lean Manufacturing tools (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, etc.). + Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, autonomous environments and support multiple priorities. + Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills. + Flexibility to support non-standard shifts and extended hours when production demands arise. **Work Location** + **Primary:** San Jose, CA – Manufacturing Operations **Pay Details:** $80,000.00 to $90,000.00 per year Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled To read our Candidate Privacy Information Statement, which explains how we will use your information, please navigate to https://www.adecco.com/en-us/candidate-privacy The Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements, including, as applicable: + The California Fair Chance Act + Los Angeles City Fair Chance Ordinance + Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers + San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance
