Industrial Engineer Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and implementing warehouse layouts and processes to enhance operational efficiency and support logistics and supply chain objectives. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, proficiency in engineering principles, and a passion for continuous improvement.

ResponsibilitiesDesign and optimize warehouse layouts and workflows to maximize space utilization and improve operational efficiency.Conduct thorough analyses of current warehouse processes, identifying bottlenecks and areas for improvement.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, logistics, and IT, to implement effective warehouse solutions.Utilize data-driven approaches and engineering tools to evaluate and improve warehouse performance metrics, including throughput, inventory accuracy, and order fulfillment times.Develop and maintain documentation related to warehouse design, processes, and optimization projects.Conduct simulations and modeling to assess the impact of proposed changes on overall warehouse operations.Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in warehouse design and optimization.Provide recommendations for equipment, technology, and automation solutions to enhance warehouse operations.Train and support warehouse staff in new processes and technologies as needed.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.3+ years of experience in warehouse design, optimization, or supply chain engineering.Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in process improvement and continuous improvement methodologies.Understanding of distribution and logistics principles.Work Environment

This role is based in an onsite warehouse environment. Consultants will have their own workspace but will spend the majority of their time optimizing the workflow and layout of warehouses. The opportunity includes supporting the cruise line industry through warehouse workflows in four warehouses located in Florida and six in Europe.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
