JOB TITLE: Industrial Engineer, Continuous Improvement
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure that work processes are safe and address safety issues and concerns.Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and support continuous improvement initiatives across operations.Conduct time studies and workflow analysis to support operational efficiency and strategic decision-making.Facilitate improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and A3 problem-solving methodologies (VSM, Continuous flow, Workplace organization 5S, Cycle time, takt time studies, Ergonomic, Define Waste, TPM program).Lead Kaizen events to find potential improvements.Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Just in Time (JIT) strategizing.Utilize advanced Excel functions (e.g., pivot tables, macros, Power Query) to manage and analyze operational data effectively.Develop interactive dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms to visualize KPIs and trends.Develop and implement work instructions / standardized work and train team members.Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs), such as cycle time, productivity, defect rates.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, maintenance, quality, supply chain) to implement sustainable process improvements.Drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams (Ishikawa), Pareto Analysis, and FMEA to solve issues.Implement and sustain 5S methodology (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to create organized, efficient, and safe work environments.Support cost reduction and value stream optimization projects through data modeling and process simulations.Engage teams at all levels in continuous improvement tools and practices to build a culture of operational excellence.Education & Experience:
BS in Industrial Engineering or related field such as Manufacturing, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering required.2-5 years of high-volume Process Engineering Manufacturing background targeting safety.Knowledge of Power BI and other data analysis tools required.Automotive alignment a plus.Industrial Engineering or Operations experience.Excellent oral and written communication skills in addition to presentation capacity.Leadership skills to conduct workshops and drive continuous improvement.Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Works effectively both on a team and individually.Proficient with MS Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Minitab, SAP.Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principlesData analytics and application skills to identify methods aligned with streamlining processes, eliminating waste and implementing technological improvement.Project management ownership across multiple projects in various stages simultaneously.Organizational, planning, and documentation skills.Adept at relying on presentation software to present complex information to non-technical management personnel and other stakeholders.Our Company:
