Industrial Electromechanical Technician
Job Description

Overview:

The Industrial Electromechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of industrial mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems. Working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, this role collaborates with engineering, machine operators, and fellow maintenance staff to ensure optimal equipment performance and reduce downtime.



Work Experience

Key Responsibilities:

Perform repairs, preventative maintenance, installations, and upgrades on production equipment and facility systems.Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used via CMMS or manual logs.Troubleshoot and repair motors, gearboxes, conveyor systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, overhead cranes, extrusion, presses, and rewinding systems.Inspect and assess machinery for proper function.Troubleshoot pumps, valves, cylinders, and adjust mechanical systems using hand and machine tools.Fabricate repair parts and perform welding, cutting, and machining.Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, AC/DC drives, temperature controls, and computer-based systems.Assist with machine programming, setup, and documentation revisions.Run conduit, install electrical boxes, pull wires, and perform terminations.Bench work: Diagnose, rebuild, test, and repair offline equipment.Follow safety protocols while maintaining equipment and supporting production needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance Certification, or minimum of 3 years as an Industrial Electrician with mechanical experience.Proficient in 120/277/480V & 3-phase electrical systems.Strong PLC troubleshooting skills (Allen Bradley/RSLogix preferred).Experience with VFDs, DC/servo drives, and 4-20mA analog control systems.Familiarity with temperature controls, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and process controls.Ability to read schematics, ladder logic, and mechanical drawings.Skilled in using digital multimeters and hand tools.Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, OSHA regulations, and Lockout/Tagout procedures.Computer proficiency: Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook), Adobe, AX (a plus).Excellent multitasking, prioritization, and time-management skills.Strong communication and documentation abilities.Self-starter with the ability to work independently and under pressure.Experience with 5S, Lean principles, and safety programs.Must own a set of SAE and metric hand tools.Preferred experience: Extrusion systems, vacuum and resin control systems, Flexo printers, bag conversion equipment.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and sit for extended periods.Must lift 50+ lbs and work in various environmental conditions.Ability to climb ladders, work on scaffolding, and operate man lifts.Operate a forklift, scissor lift, and manlift.Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
