The Role & What You Will Be Doing
Every day, we rise to the challenge to make a difference and here’s how the Indirect Tax Associate Manager EMEA - Fixed Term role will make an impact:
Review and Submission of the Indirect Tax returns. (Hungary necessary and other EMEA countries, as required)Review and sign off balance sheet account reconciliations. Ensure proper escalation protocol is adhered to for any aging items.Ensure all Indirect Tax payments are made on time and refunds requested in a timely and accurate manner.Monitor changes in Indirect Tax rules - understand the impact on the compliance process, make any necessary changes and ensure any changes/improvements to process/ERP are implemented.Identify and take ownership in projects on Indirect tax related matters or any legal or process or business changes. Identify the stakeholders, set the project goals, actions and target. Follow up on progress and apply effective control points.Responsible for continuous process improvement – ensure Indirect Tax Compliance process is robust, efficient, and documented and has best in class controls. Drive and support automation initiatives.Attend and lead internal and external audits and reviews, SOX compliance checks in cooperation with auditors and authorities apart from ensuring all documentation is prepared and reviewed in line with audit deadlines.Manage deliverables of outsourced service provider and work with other Indirect Tax Team members or other Viatris departments, to resolve any quality, timeline or accuracy issues.Maintain a solid understanding of the overall market, business, and operations of Viatris.
About Your Skills & Experience
For this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:
Qualified Accountant or Member of Tax Institute or bachelor’s degree in accounting/Finance.4+ years of indirect tax experience, highly preferably in a mix of public accounting and multinational corporate environment.Operational knowledge on Indirect Tax regulations.Strong hands-on knowledge and experience of SAP.Excellent skills in MS Office and applications.Strong aptitude for identifying and implementing process improvements, new technologies and tools.Strong technical and financial report writing ability.Strong skills in data analysis, root cause identification, problem-solving and decision making as well as execution.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills, fluency in spoken and written English, second foreign language knowledge is an advantage.
