Job DescriptionREPRESENTATIVE ACTIVITIES: Activities and duties will vary dependent upon functional area assigned. Activities may include, but are not limited to:
Expedite orders by suppliers to meet production. Supervise preparation of orders and follow-up to expedite delivery and shipment.
Check and approve invoices for orders placed.
Work to reduce network raw materials, WIP, and finished goods inventories while optimizing service, reducing waste, and increasing inventory turns.
Develop and maintain necessary records and files for efficient operation.
Conduct assessments of customer needs within assigned region or area.
Support the execution of materials and operation direction setting packages.
Constantly assess systems for improvement opportunities.
Provide guidance to maintain communications between purchasing, engineering and manufacturing regarding inventory levels.
Review plant demand and resource availability.
Ensure materials availability for production schedule.
Assess and work to improve inventory accuracy.
Improve communication and materials flow with supply chain partners.
Execute procurement sourcing strategies in-line with overall division and/or corporate objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree desired.
4 - 6 years prior buying, purchasing or related experience.
Well versed in purchasing techniques and logistical supply chain.
Well versed in assisting Purchasing Manager in vendor selection and negotiating/developing contracts.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, and function specific software.
Strong customer service skills.
Strong purchasing skills with strong business acumen.
