Indirect Supply Chain is looking for a motivated candidate to join our team as a Buyer for Ford Perfromance and Motorsports. This dynamic role involved project sourcing in Aurora, collaborating on contracts for motorsports partnerships, and managing contract relationships. **What you'll do…**
**Strategic and Tactical Planning**
+ **Project Lifecycle Management:** Develop and implement both strategic and tactical plans to oversee the entire commercial lifecycle of Performance and Motorsports projects and contracts, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
+ Create and issue purchase orders in Ariba based on requisitions from internal stakeholders.
+ Ensure that all necessary information (such as item descriptions, quantities, pricing, and delivery dates) is accurately reflected on the POs.
+ **Market Tests & Supplier Assessment** : Lead strategic market tests and conduct thorough supplier assessments, followed by adept negotiation to maximize supplier potential and pricing strategies.
+ **Timely and Quality Sourcing** : Work in collaboration with customers to ensure that sourcing activities meet deadlines, maintain high quality, and deliver value for money.
**Contract Management**
+ **Competitive Contract Drafting** : Draft, negotiate, and manage competitive contracts, detailed with clear deliverables, terms & conditions, payment terms, and pricing models to protect organizational interests.
+ Collaborate with Business Owners and legal to mitigate risk to Ford.
**Commodity Strategy Development**
+ **Ford Motorsports Commodity Strategy** : Maintain and evolve a Commodity Strategy specifically tailored to Ford Motorsports. Identify and execute supplier and commodity-focused sourcing plans designed to achieve cost reduction targets.
**Market Data Analysis and Benchmarking**
+ **Category Expertise Development** : Conduct comprehensive market data analyses to establish expertise within categories, leveraging this knowledge for superior sourcing strategies.
+ **Benchmarking Activities** : Perform benchmarking via market tests and third-party studies to gain insights into category KPIs and SLAs, which inform sourcing decisions and competitive positioning.
**Supplier Crisis Management**
+ **Critical Supplier Issue Resolution** : Act as the primary contact for supplier-related crisis management, leading and supporting organizational responses to critical supplier issues to mitigate risks and maintain continuity.
**Supplier Performance Management**
+ **Collaboration with Skill Teams** : Partner with specialized teams to identify, monitor, and drive supplier performance aligned with KPI metrics. Implement supplier and commodity-specific plans to enhance efficiency and achieve targeted cost reductions.

**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ 5+ years of experience in procurement, preferably within the Automotive industry
+ **Contract Management** : Manage, negotiate, and draft a variety of contracts to facilitate sourcing activities, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and legal requirements.
+ **Supply Chain Expertise** : Leverage advanced knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail in all contractual agreements.
+ **High-Value Negotiations** : Effectively manage and coordinate negotiations for high-dollar contracts, ensuring favorable terms while mitigating risks.
+ **Cross-Functional Collaboration** : Utilize strong program management and communication skills to network effectively across various functions within the organization.
+ **Legal Interface** : Act as the primary interface with internal legal teams and lead discussions with external supplier legal counsel to resolve contract-related issues.
+ **Proactive Team Player** : Exhibit self-starter qualities with robust interpersonal and written communication skills, contributing positively to team dynamics.
+ **Adaptability in Ambiguity** : Navigate "gray space" scenarios with ease, demonstrating flexibility and resourcefulness in addressing complex challenges.
+ **Task Management Under Pressure** : Successfully manage multiple priorities during peak periods, adjusting to workload ebbs and flows with efficiency.
+ **Analytical Skills** : Employ excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities to guide contract strategy and performance outcomes.

This position is a salary grade 7 - 8.
